CKA Exam Preparation: Day 1

Certified Kubernetes Administrator

The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification, offered by the Linux Foundation, is globally recognized.

The CKA curriculum consists of five main topics, each with a different weightage in the exam:

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam pattern:

Format:

  • The CKA exam is a problem-based test.
  • You’ll solve these problems directly from the command line within a Kubernetes environment.
  • The exam duration is 2 hours.
  • You’ll need to tackle 17 questions.

Scoring:

  • The passing score is 66%.
  • Each question carries different weights, such as 4%, 5%, 7%, 13%, and so on.
  • Some questions may have multiple parts.

Exam Simulator:

  • Candidates who register for the CKA exam receive 2 attempts (per exam registration) to an exam simulator provided by Killer.sh.
  • The exam environment is based on Kubernetes v1.30.
  • It aligns with the most recent K8s minor version within approximately 4 to 8 weeks of the K8s release date.

Valuable resources to help you prepare effectively for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam:

  1. CKA Curriculum: The official CKA curriculum from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) provides essential topics and guidelines for the exam.
  2. Kubernetes Documentation: The official Kubernetes documentation serves as a valuable reference for your exam preparation. It covers various aspects of Kubernetes, including architecture, components, and best practices.
  3. KodeKloud CKA Course: Consider enrolling in the popular CKA preparation course available on Udemy. This course provides hands-on labs, practical exercises, and expert guidance to enhance your skills.
  4. Kubernetes Practice Tests: To assess your readiness, explore CKA practice tests available on platforms like Udemy. These tests simulate the actual exam environment and help you gauge your knowledge and performance.
  5. CKA Exercises: Check out the GitHub repository with CKA exercises and solutions. Practicing these exercises will reinforce your understanding of Kubernetes concepts and boost your confidence.
